I'm looking for a broken/junker breadbox C64 and PSU for inclusion in a piece of "collaborative sculpture" in Wellington on the 17th July.

I would like to have a case, keyboard and motherboard, but all useful parts/chips could be stripped from it first. Condition of the parts is not important. Originally I had thought I already had a parts C64 for this, but it turns out I only have one breadbox C64! I'm willing to pay a nominal sum for the parts, and can pick up from the Wellington area this weekend (10-11th July).

Alternatively, if you have any other 8 bit you'd like to see.. umm.. *cough* recycled into public art.. let me know

Sadly (for me) I wasn't able to locate a junk C64 in time for the event in question. I did however find a nice Macintosh Classic with a PSU fault. And I got in the News

The Mac looked much more fitting ! Better to use a lemon of an Apple computer, the breadbox Commodore just would have gone to crumbs smashing it against the car.

Must say that wasn't quite the prior mental image I had of a "collaborative sculpture". But that's why you're the artist and I am not

I was somewhat reticent about using a breadbox, but I was always on the Sinclair side of that argument so I decided to try if I could get one in bad enough condition. Stick to your roots I reckon.

I was quite surprised how difficult it was to visibly damage the Mac. The axe was necessary

As it art?? Err.,, Not sure, but how many of us have wanted to take a hammer to a car (or a computer) at some stage!

It looked a fun event in any case.

I wouldn't know art if it jumped up and bit me on the arse. I still think the ZX80 is art. It certainly was fun, and the Mac was a bit of a crowd pleaser. James had said to bring along your weapon of choice, but most people were just using the axe and sledgehammer provided.

It was a great opportunity have a wee bit of a rant about the modern Apple corporation too, but I wasn't expecting to be on Telly so I was a bit surprised and rambled on a bit. They cunningly chose a bit that almost made sense for the News
