Old school Unix workstations...

Postby SeanKennedy on Wed Jun 17, 2015 5:56 pm

Ok chaps, I may have available a couple of Digital DS10 desktop(?) web bricks in the near future. What I am looking to swap them for would be a SunSparc 1-5 era pizza box (Yes, I am kicking myself for binning one 7 years ago). And a similar vintage SGI Indy - could maybe stretch to an Indigo, but they don't mean as much to me for nostalgias sake. Not after any VDUs - willing to concede practicality over space.

So I'll just leave this here and see what happens. If not a DS10, I may sniff out a DS20 - but shipping would be a killer!

Well I've managed to snarf an Indigo2 but after bidding I realised that it was pickup only - from Masterton. Any board members local to this - or know of a nice way to get a (probably heavy) box moved to CH?

Thanks for the link - but I have a willing minion^H^H^H colleague going that way this weekend.

Cheers

Well, best I update this request.

No longer after any Sparc or SGI gear (well, except for an IndyCam or two) as the collection now holds a SparcStation 10, SparcStationLX, SGI Indy and Indigo².

DS10/20s have all gone too. Strangely, no extra space in the garage though.

Now all I want to round out my collection is a DSE Super-80 - but I'll settle for a remake if the board tracing gets done.
