For those PC collectors - its pretty cheap, and I suspect will go pretty quick once someone gets a sniff of it on TradeMe...

Looks like a real bitza someone's thrown together.
Note the two POST errors in one of the screen shots.

Frankenbox BIOS string identifies it as a Jetway mobo, a relatively 'cheap' brand at the time - ie slow, but clearly capable as it is still alive unlike so many better quality brands that have ended up in the trash.
The DVD responds correctly to the BIOS probe, but BIOS incorrectly describes as CD-ROM. Not likely that there is an update to fix this!

I'd suspect DVD has a fault to have found itself in this aptly described 'bitza', particularly if the seller is not prepared to fix a basic IRQ conflict - start at the sound card vs. the second serial port settings.
And that floppy error, well, the empty hole in the case problem was solved with something found lying around. Could easily have been disconnected to hide that it is faulty ;o)

We had one of these in one of the places I worked, but with the p75 instead of the 100MHz chip. Very nice slim, small footprint box - I didn't like the front cosmetic pull down over the drives though, but that's likely to stay up when in use so the case looks very clean in general use. Priced pretty sharply, including the original drivers CD! (Oh, better add the disclaimer that I'm not associated with this seller in any way! And I need to reduce some PC gear here before I go buying others)

Could be the basis for a good tweener box. That Aptiva is priced right and might even be worth a weekend toodle to the Naki to pickup.

That Aptiva was the first model of computer I got brand new, I had the Pentium 75 version too at a rather costly $4,000 and it came with Windows 3.11 / OS/2 Warp 3 and a free upgrade voucher for Windows 95. At the time, I wish I had a 'bits' machine, because it was quite limiting for an enthusiast but now it looks like a nice collectable and at an attractive price. I wouldn't feel too good about spending 35-45 on an AMD bits box, but someone might if they need an expandable tweener and can't find one.

I predict some frantic bidding on the P100 ;)

Speaking of IBMs here comes a PS/2 model 30/286. Curious to see if it gets a bidding war going or not.

Yeah this caught me eye as soon as it came up.

It's one of those machines that wasn't great but important to me, but I'll have to watch my budget and see where bids go :S
I have a dead one (rusted out, PSU dead, can't get motherboard to even so much as beep with another PSU) which can provide a backup HDD (it has the original 30Mb and spins up). I'm wondering if the owner had the RTC replaced, or if the seller ignored the errors, or the original is still working

Frantic bidding alright  If anyone wants an ISO of the cd sing out. I'll create a thread over at VCF in the Pentium section with the exact model no. etc. Looks like the clone went as well.

lol I would've jumped in, but saving my pennies to see if I can grab the Model 30.
Will be a good candidate for a dual boot of OS/2 Warp and Windows 98.

I'm curious if that restore CD has OS/2 Warp + WIndows (like mine new) or if IBM just went with "Windows 95 only" after it was readily available.

I'll keep you posted. A brief look at some specs, without knowing the exact model sub no., with the description given in the auction-ie max 96megs of ram indicates it's a Type I-1 mobo with a P24/Cx586 class chip of some sort in it. Which is funny because the whole system, including freight will cost less than a 486 turbo chip. Sound card has been replaced too.

Hmm win95 only by the looks, but it is the later I-2 mobo with the option for more ram, video ram upgrade, coast L2 cache and the possiblity of sticking in faster processors, so very happy. I put in an extra few $ for packaging which seemed only fair and the seller bundled an SB ISA Sound Blaster CT 4170 card and MATROX PCI video card with the machine which I wasn't expecting.
