Very cheap. I'm not sure where the lack of interest is coming from. I would have bid, but I think one may turn up in Dunedin one day so I'll wait till then. I returned 8 Mac Plus's and SE's to the eDay containers because I didn't have room in the car for them. There weren't anything old though.

Expensive shipping? Factoring in postage is a luxury I don't seem to be able to enjoy. I've paid $50-$60 on many computer auctions that were worth about that.

Oh, just looked at the auction. I'm sure the postage would be negotiated down to a more reasonable NZ Post standard rate of $22-$30 rather than the $100 mentioned in the Q&A.

I'm sure just the extra numeric keypad alone is pretty rare and I've seen it previously priced at an according level.

I guess everyones car boot's and spare cupboard space is now full...

Maybe it's state of operation had something to do with it - it wasnt really tested, and "two tick boxes" doesnt sound like something I'd expect to see after power up on a working machine (although a moving mouse is also not what I'd expect to see on a faulty machine generally speaking).

Still, for parts alone I would say that is a good price.

Perhaps. I do want an early Mac, preferably a 128 but a 512k would do at a pinch. But this one has no keyboard? That might be hard to source and it's likely to cost money. Given that plus the shipping costs, plus the deyellowing effort, plus that the fact I don't want it THAT much, plus that I have a guy locally who might sell me one eventually....I think I'll pass this time.

The M0001ED model number pegs this as a 512Ke, the same model I have. I paid more than the bidding has reached on this one, but mine came boxed with polys, manuals, two keyboards and a third party external floppy drive. Admittedly the mains filter cap popped pretty early on, but that wasn't hard to fix once I knew what to replace it with :)

I told a friend a few days ago that I estimate this one to go between $100 and $150. I think that's overpriced in relation to its historic value, but about right for the current overinflated Apple market.
