Heh, I've been hanging out for a colour monitor, they don't come up much.
Same with that BBC B that's up, I don't want the B just the TTL monitor.

Yes. Even though this screen is in Palmerston North, you're safe from a bid from me. I've already got one, I really don't have the room and I'm pursing something else at the moment. How deep are your pockets? :)

Good Apple gear goes for a reasonable amount. See this Australian ebay entry. I wonder what the final price will be..

Hah! I saw that monitor on there last night and said to myself, "I betcha Tezza or matson are gonna want that..." ;)

Flamin' heck, that's good money for an old IIe Colour monitor but. Correct match if you're trying to get together a IIe Platinum mind you... keep at it lads, one of you will become the proud owner I guess?

Before anyone says it... yeeeeeeeah, I got carried away and put a $200 autobid so I wouldn't have to bid again (at work)

Bloody hell coogie... didn't expect to see you just chiming in above the $100 mark ? !

It was already well over silly money at $81

Yeah, it's the dynamic of an auction that does it to you. Occasionally I get really grumpy with auctions. Every time I limit myself to something "reasonable" as to the maximum something is worth to me, then you miss it by $1 (by definition) and end up kicking myself.

Consequently, you have to reach slightly into the "unreasonable" if you're planning on taking your eyes off the auction... aaaaand it's just a downhill slide from there if you get a little impatient with the "you have been outbid!!!!!!" (by $1) emails.

I should learn... :?

And definitely higher than the $90 plus a nice family day trip I paid for mine a few weeks ago. Though mine could do with a coat of paint ;)

Lol, I was bidding off my phone and a combination of that being really frustrating to do on trademe, and the high value it was going to made me give up.
I was thinking maybe 50/60

The sick part is it was all people here bidding on it, you inflated the price yourselves! :)

Obviously I recognise coogie and matsondawson since they've used the same nicknames as this board, but who's "zl2aox"?

Zl2aox is a member of this forum and lives in Palmerston North.

The seller Wild16 lives just down the road from me. I've bought a couple of items off him via Trade Me in the past. I'm sure he'll be happy with the price.

Give that we're all collectors it's no surprise that we're going to bid against each other from time to time. Did the monitor go for a ridiculous price? Na, I don't think so. Most of us are collectors rather than investors so the "worth" to the individual is going vary. I've got quite a few Apple IIe models now. If I didn't have a colour screen already I would have wanted one. They don't come up that often. I probably would have put in an autobid of $95 and hope no one would trump me. As it was, I would have been well trumped

However if I had deep pockets (which I haven't) and was an Apple enthusiast who REALLY wanted one. Well, I'd probably just go for it. :D

I wouldn't say "deep" pockets.. I got a bit carried away.

I already have one but it has a little bit of damage to the case, and since I will (eventually) get my platinum back on it's feet, I'm after an undamaged one... and it'll still be cheaper than buying and importing one from Oz.

I'll be interested to see whether this one is PAL, Standard NTSC or "International NTSC". (Any of them are usable to me.)
