Apple IIe Emulation Card, a IIgs and an LCIII

by Gibsaw » Thu Jul 07, 2011 9:22 pm

From the trademe member wcjungle.

An Apple IIe Emulation Card for Carcenomy if he still wants one.

An LCIII to put it in.

An Apple IIgs with a reference to having lost what is probably Tezza's email address. Tezza, you have the RGB monitor for a IIgs already, don't you?

There's even a 5150 and a PS/2 model 30 on there at the mo.

Saw all that gear and drooled a little, have a look at the LC-III and IIgs auctions... he DOES have the correct IIgs peripherals, but they're with the LC-III.

CURSEWORDS! I get an email notification saying 'You have been outbid', as the auction closed. So much for autoextend! :(

Hehehe. Not really.

Just a personal preference I suppose. While I'm sure they are a good machine for their time they just leave me cold. I don't even like their shape. From an historical point of view they are interesting in that they are the last of the very venerable Apple II line. That really is the only reason I would want one at all (but it IS a reason).

If there was a nostaliga factor in there for me I'm sure things would be different. I didn't even KNOW there was an Apple IIGS model until I started collecting Apple IIs a couple of years ago.

For me the IIgs falls into the "read the review on Bits & Bytes but couldn't afford one" category. The specs were finally competitive with other 8 bitters, though technically it was 16 bit. The price was still in line with Apple's long standing policy of "under spec and over charge" which has served them so well over the years. ;)

Speaking of "wcjungle". I see he's bidding on another IIgs on trademe, and I'm probably going to bid on it.

Considering that he says he already has two to sell, I'm thinking about contacting him directly to see what he's after. (Tezza, do you have his email?)

... I suspect I'll be after the same thing as him, which is the z80 card. :)

Anyone else after a IIgs for a reasonable price? I'm willing to forward on the IIgs for half the price it goes for, as long as I can get the z80 card and the IIc external drive. (to go with my IIc.)

bah... didn't win. It was getting silly again and I managed to (just) control myself. :)

Does anyone know "bamchch"? I wanna see if he's willing to do a deal for the z80 card and maybe the IIc 5.25 drive.
