Even rarer, it's an auction in Dunedin. Not too often anything comes up on auction down here. I need to read and see where the II Plus fits in the scheme of things.

And someone with a whole bunch of Commodore stuff (C64 x 2, Amiga 600, Amiga 500) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Vint ... 973638.htm

Well, someone had to start.

Yeah. They're a cool machine the II+. What's piqued your interest Tezza? Don't you already have a europlus?

Yes, I do have a working Europlus. Still, spares are useful and I kinda enjoy bringing them back to life. Also as every chip is socketed these machines are a useful source of 8-bit logic chips.

The II+ is a good machine to have if you can fix it. (and Terry certainly can) This one lacks a "Language Card" (or disk drives / controllers) but you can get these from ebay. :)

I see you're bidding on those 3 Apple IIe's as well.

I didn't realise the II+ was brought into NZ with a 240V PSU... I wonder if its had a transplant? :?:

I strongly suspect so.

I am tempted by the II+ but already have two of them...gotta draw the line some where...

I notice the badge is looking like its got a bit of corrosion damage!

Any one got a easy fix for that? (a couple of my units have the same issue :( )

You think so? I thought the Europlus varient was made for the 220-240V PAL market?

Yep. (a) It's not a europlus and from my memory, it was the europlus we got here in NZ. (VERY briefly, before the IIe.) and (b) That PSU looks like it's a spare someone has been keeping and periodically testing. :) (judging from the writing on it.)

I should have bought the Apple II Plus (sold, $61), instead of 3 Apple IIe's (probably not going) for $210 as slightly pricey display pieces. There went the home town advantage as it's what I would have spent if I bought it from elsewhere and paid postage. I'll guess the seller will be happy with a $200 profit (if they came from local auction).

I probably won't turn them on. The best thing for their value to hold in some way is that only Schrodinger's cat knows their working status. Still, this has been my only opportunity to purchase any Apple IIe's from trademe as they tend to crop up in pick up only bulk lots and in the North Island.

How did you get on? Were they going?
