I used to run Forth on my ZX81, and really wanted a Jupiter Ace.

Hmmmm... doesn't know if it's in working condition, but went to the effort of fitting a new connector to the power supply? This sounds suspect... why would you do that then not test the machine?
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.
