LC575 repairs
Posted: Mon May 11, 2015 12:22 pmA few months back I purchased an LC575 in mostly working order - VRAM is a little dodgy (gives very grainy picture at thousands of colours), no internal hard drive and scsi cable cut. But I can deal with 256 colours and an external 900 mb scsi hard drive! What I can't deal with now is no picture and a faint red line at the very top of the screen.
Step 1 - Discharge CRT and remove analogue board, then check all board components as I am assuming a leaky cap or even a dry or cracked solder joint as I have found is common in the compacts: I have yet to do this as I haven't the bench space (Covered in reddening and drying wildfire chillies - Dont ask!)
Step 2 - Repair analogue board and reassemble and test. Then onto the good stuff - FileMaker Pro Server, PowerTalk Server, and AppleShare Server for my future Mac Powerbook Collection.
