Just received my early 80's Atari 800 and on the hunt of 9V AV 3.4A power supply - any ideas for local supply? Seems most available are 1amp (which I have a few already) but 'need more power' to drive the machine. Have searched Jaycar with no luck. Found one online in the UK but then will need adapter socket but nothing locally so far.
Cheers,
Beaglz.

From what I know, the pins are all +5V and Gnd wires (no 9V signals anyway)

It might be easy enough to build something with a 7 pin plug and an alternate power source if you can't find an original... I'm sure someone here may be able to shed some knowledge on this...

Yeah that is correct on the Atari 800XL but I am talking about the Atari 800:

Looks like I might get away with a 2Amp PSU which are a little easier to come by. Have just managed to pickup a Atari 800XL system overnight as well for about $100 although will cost about the same in postage but that is part of the fun of collecting these old system.

Very nice.

The original Atari 800 is a model I'm yet to get my hands on!

Managed to pick it up off Ebay.co.uk for 50 pound plus $100 postage on YouShop. Had some damage to the outer case which I have repaired with plastic glue.

Picked up a new 9v AV 2amp power supply locally which is working fine. Couple the unit with the SIO2SD and working like a charm.

Just waiting on the 800 XL unit to arrive which should be early next week.

Wow. Nice piece of kit. I've wanted to get a 400 - but they tend to be hard (or expensive) to find. :)
