486-DX2 board works

Postby tezza on Sat Jul 14, 2012 4:00 pm

Earlier this afternoon I dragged out and tested this board I got for a few bucks off Trade Me about 2 weeks ago.

I had to rummage around in the spare parts bin to find a VGA and Multifunction card with a disk controller. I'd forgotten just how much was NOT on these boards. Anyway, it works! 8MB RAm and 50 MHZ. Disappointed it wasn't 66Mhz but oh well. At least it's completes my vintage Intel examples. I've now a working 386, 486 and Pentium 1.

I'm going to be cataloguing all my random processors, boards, cards etc tonight... were you wanting a 66 for it? :)
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.
eisa on Trademe. A lasting reminder of a Compaq fetish when I was younger.

I upgraded my 486 box too a while back to a DX2-66. I bought it off that 'Woodnwind' chap on Trade Me. I didn't realise people actually collected ICs for their own sake :o
