An oldie but goes

by Swivel » Wed Jun 19, 2013 3:39 pm

Well I have this out the back and was going to put it on Trademe but why not here first.

This is a redstone PC/XT rsv20-1/2/3 10 MHz Turbo LOL.

Has the AT / XT keyboard

The MFM hard drive doesn't work (makes funny noise) 8-( but system does via floppy 5 1/4 (over 100 of these and 1/2 are new not used).

Look at the pic's (love TM's pic upload area)

As you would know, this is heavy and won't be cheap to courier

Tomo

Will leave it up for a week for offers LOL

*gasp* I love bonnet cases.

3.5" Miniscribe hard drives are very good at getting themselves stuck, even in the 90's I had a real dislike for them as they started to fail on me then too! Depending on the noise, they can usually be encouraged to live though.

Since I have lots of PCs, I do not mind stepping aside for someone else who needs one, but otherwise I'd be quite interested. I'll need to know how much you'd want for it, and a vague estimate to send it down to Wellington though - just to simply check I can afford it (damn bills).

Well for shipping (without the printer) it would be 2 box's and around 15kg's each box.

So for posthaste courier it would be a total of 6 tickets

Prices per ticket

North island tickets are $14
South Island tickets are $16 (2 day delivery)
North Island Regional link (hastings to Taupo/Palm nth/Gisborne/Wairoa) $9

Just an Idea to follow

This exact model is the first PC I ever owned. Nostalgic memories.

I don't need another one for the collection at the moment though so I'll pass on it. Appreciate you giving members first crack at it though.

Apart from the shipping cost, it's a $1 start as it will go to a good home on here.

I don't have an XT class box so I'll auto-bid $10 ;) I've got an 8-bit EMS card, 8 bit 1.44 controller and 8-bit scsi controller I've been dying to try out.

Are pickups allowed Tommo?

If it works out in my favour I'll most likely tie it in with a visit to the mother in laws. She lives in Kings Str. That way it'll keep her in doors happy as well.

I have four, so I wont outbid you.

Great looking machine, and seriously those bonnet cases are ace - especially if you're testing floppy drives etc.
