Apple //e on offer

I have a working Apple //e Platinum which I'd like to offer to someone who doesn't own an Apple II yet. So, while I'm after some kind of $$ amount for it - I'm not going to go for the biggest numbers here. If you already have an Apple II, maybe look away!

What do you have to do?
DM me the reason you would love an Apple II project. Tell me how much you can afford to pay - remember, this isn't the only criteria. I'll announce the new owner via DM and here on Thursday 15th @ 7pm. We can arrange a pickup or shipping afterwards.

On offer:
- Apple //e Platinum, working (some issues), good physical condition.
- Spare Apple //e Platinum, not working. Bad power supply, no keyboard. Good for parts. (It has a motherboard and PSU in it)
- 5.25" Floppy drive which needs some TLC. Head clean maybe.
- Disks. ProDOS boot disk. DOS 3.3 with ADT disk. You'll be able to use ADT on your PC or Mac to connect via the sound in/out interface to make further disks.
- There is NO screen.

The machine works really well, but from time to time I've had to press down on the CPU to get it to boot. I think the CPU needs to be pulled from the board, cleaned and reseated. This is part of the project, it's not a perfect machine, but it does come with a spare!

Any questions, post here. Here are some pictures:

BTW, this *isn't* the same machine(s) as I have for sale on Trade Me...

I would love to make an offer to rehome your IIe, the Platinum is the model I grew up at primary school with! Alas however, as times are changing I need to downscale my collection to make room for a pile of car parts I have to store for my dad.

** BUMP **

In a few hours I'll be choosing the new owner of the Apple //e pair. It'll be a lottery - so throw your name in the hat if you don't have an Apple II in your mix! DM me!
Don't stress about the $$ side of things - that isn't the determining factor (although $50 seems to be the average so far)

Well done! :)

I would love an Apple II - but I'm stacking machines on a pile of other stuff in a room with, well, no room...

I have an amiga under the kitchen sink and monitors up in the ceiling, i had to build shelving in one cupboard, there is so much stuff i can keep busy for years looking for items, its getting to the point where i need to do a stock take to see exactly what I own in hardware.

It's a good idea to do that Gavin. I have everything I own, not just computers but manuals, books, peripherals and spare boards all recorded on a spreadsheet. It also has notes associated with them like when I last ran a test, or what seems suspect or needs fixing. It certainly helps organise things and stops me buying stuff I already have! (yes, done that with a book once).

It doesn't stretch as far as individual chips or software..not to say that wouldn't be useful also!

I'm still a kid so space is even more scarce and rare. I'm currently sharing a small room with my brother, so its up to my kiwi ingenuity to make things fit...

I made this (the stand) form an old desk and some wood. :D (the drawings in the background aren't mine, younger siblings :))

Cool. Necessity is the mother of invention. :)

I see you haven't fixed the power button!

The amount it irritated me was exactly the same as my desire not to fix it. In hindsight, I probably should of.
