Substantial Commodore and/or PC collection available

by tezza » Mon Mar 21, 2016 4:04 pm

I've been contacted by a collector in Rotorua who, due to circumstances, needs to divest himself of a ready-made Commodore and/or PC-compatible collection. He'd like the collection(s) to go to a vintage computer enthusiast rather than a second-hand dealer or (as a last resort) just be scrapped. The collections seem extensive and contain many models, books and software. He needs someone to take both lots, or at least either the PC or Commodore stash. He is unable to post stuff, so please do not ask...it would be pickup only.

Anyone with a truck/van and some storage place? I imagine some of this stuff could be on-sold to the community via Trade Me, or on here, if whoever gets it didn't want to keep it all. Anyway, to get more details and/or open a dialogue channel email Graeme at graemed18@gmail.com.

Sent an email to say that if acsi can't take all of it I will try to help out. Can't let it be scrapped.

As usual I'd be an interested Wellington based customer for anyone who gets the PC parts.
Not so much the rare and valuable, just really need more 286/386 era cases :/

Alright a big thank you to Graeme and his wife and one totally fully loaded van (including passengers seat) :?

Should have the load back in Petone on Monday for anyone who is interested

I spotted lots of C64's, XT's, AT's, 386's, 486's (laptops and desktops) and above also Amiga 500's 600's in various states.

Lots of drives 1541's and a box of Amiga drives yet to be investigated. Probably some SMD-1001's and interfaces but I've yet to investigate these.

Spidersweb has first dibs on the PC gear. And GLC on Amiga gear.

Anyway unfortionatley I couldn't grab everything but did get the majority excluding som pentiums. Thanks Glen for sorting everything as this made it very easy and if you need anything else just let me know.

Anyone else is welcome to inquire and all I ask is freight and proof of a suitable donation to a charity of your choice.

I am not after a profit from this as Graeme has given back to the community and we should do the same.

Thanks

Ooh, I'd be keen for a bit of a scavenge after the folks with dibs have had their pick, there's a couple of formerly working commodores in my stable that seem to have deteriorated and need parts or replacing and Petone is close by. :)

I'm really pleased with the way this has worked out. Many machines of interest to the community have been saved from the landfill. Thanks to Graeme for donating them, and Mike and Glen for doing the leg work. I'm pleased these forums could play a part. Kudos to you guys! :D
