Hi Muzza,

I don't know much about ICL. They did put out a Microcomputer. Does it look anything like this?

Alternatively, are you sure you don't have a ICL terminal?

You can't upload photos to the forum but you can link in photos if they are already on the web (in places like photobucket etc). Just put the link between the IMG tags

I got in touch with Muzza about the system and recommended he came here for more information and opinion on financial value. I'd made an offer that was much lower than he'd asked for, so I was also curious as to what other collectors in NZ would value it at or recommend to a seller to check I'm not giving out rubbish advice or being a tighty. I'll admit I was surprised to see a Compaq SLT sell on trademe for a few hundred last week.

From what I can tell it's a 8085 8 bit CP/M 2.2 system with your typical 64K RAM, and a serial terminal but what I personally found interesting was it's design similarities to the IBM PC 5150, despite being released earlier. I beleive Muzza is currently having the power supply repaired, so I'll be keen to see what it does afterwards :)

I couldn't find any decent reference manuals, schematics, or software available online. If the disks are recoverable, then it comes with CP/M, BASIC, and what looks to be a spreadsheet program - so could be turned in to a usable piece. He also appears to have spare cards, which I think are FDC, CPU, and RAM, that could prove useful.
