Laser Compumate 2e

Postby Gibsaw on Mon May 05, 2014 11:20 pm

I have the joy of now possessing this little machine... It works fine, has a manual, and is in lovely condition... It is however, somewhat of an orphan and seems to be the least documented of vTech's beasties.

It has Z80 processor, 8K RAM. (Yes, this one seems to have 8K, not 4K.)

It has blanking plates for "Cassette", "Expansion I/O", "Line", and "Phone", but I presume none of these modules are present, and are probably complete unobtainium.

It also has a 34 pin ROM expansion port that has two rows of pins (visually like the connector on a 3.5" floppy.) but I can't find any mention of any existing software for it, other than the basic "organiser" software it has built in.

Anyone know anything more about it?

I have one which works too. I'll have a look tonight to refresh my memory.
It's the same, ports blanked with Z80 + 8K. Was hoping I'd find some kind of CP/M or BASIC but no luck.
