Atari 1050 drive slipping belt

My 1050 drive is failing to turn as the belt is slipping?
Is that repairable without a new belt?

I haven't come across this before. Has the belt stretched with age maybe?

I'm not entirely sure. I'm wondering if it's a combination of belt age and possibly older disks. Maybe they aren't as flat as they once were.
