Hi

Opened up my PC20 primarily to check for a battery that might need removing. Turns out they were not fitted.. Decided to press ahead and remove the rust spotted rf shield to cast my eye over the motherboard. Blasted it all out with with air. Check out the HUGE transformer. No fancy switch mode here. Its as heavy as it looks. :)

Theres spaces for a co processor and extra ram but I dont think ill touch the ram. Computer is too rare to mess with that. I will probably pop in a co pro though as its no stress with since theres a socket waiting for it.

Yes its missing a key but im glad I saved it years ago. Its last working years werent nice I dont think. Some brat had drawn over it with a pen. Pics below which I hope are of some interest. Right now it keeps saying check keyboard so im trying to work that out..

After pulling the keyboard apart again while feeling panic as theres no spare parts for these as far as I know I managed to clear the stuck keyboard alert. Found that the membrane is made of two distinct layers and some contamination had got in between the layers right where the missing scroll lock key was.. Haahaa. I massaged that area of membrane gently and retested and it immediately booted my Freedos disk in Drive A. :)

If people are interested ill load more pictures of other computers I work on. No comments here so far so is no one interested? :) :D
