Wow, someone is unloading some classic machines from Auckland on Trade Me at the moment. An Osborne, an IBM PC, a PC Junior, an original compaq, a NEXT cube...even a DEC PDP/11! I'll be interested to see what the prices (and general interest) will be.

Makes a change from the usual < 10 year old rubbish and the guy trying to sell an NZBC distribution amp or delay line as a 'computer board.'

Not sure if that IBM is a 5150 PC or a 5170 PC/AT though....

May have to divert my savings for the "Computer Nerds Retro Book!" going for $40. Heck I may even have one of them, which if I could sell for that amount might go half way to buying one of the computers.

He mentioned in a latest auction comments also having a Memotech. Despite probably not being as rare and valuable as everything else he's listed, I did buy a box full of Memotech NZ User Group magazines some time back for a hefty amount of postage, so it might go well with them. It's a future project to scan them all in, unless someone knows that they're already in some digital archive somewhere???

Just also waiting for other childhood wants of an Enterprise and Apricot to turn up on TM. They looked cool.

Ahh, I remember hearing about the Apricot.

Memotech user group?? Seems like there was a user group for about every kind of machine back those days. I've just been pouring through copies of the Auckland Colour Genie Users Group. Like you, the aim is to scan these eventually.

I really need to be retired so I can do all this :)
