Thanks. No, I'm working through my collection in order as it's displayed on my collection pages. The next one then, is the Atari 400.

Unfortunately it will be a while until I get to my Lisa 2(s). :)

Yea, I say do it. It's fun to see people's individual take on their machines.

I've found the whole video/YouTube process to be a learning curve for me, and it takes much longer to produce them than the videos would suggest. The biggest PITA was getting the video from the (old) digital tape-based camera, to a modern machine when the only connection on the camera was Firewire. My modern laptop and my XP box only has USB, and I did want to fork out for an adaptor. I was lucky enough to find an old XP (2005) laptop which DID have a Firewire connection and so use this as an intermediary!

Actually the old camera does have an SD card, but it is assumed this is used for still images (I guess those days the cards didn't have much capacity). You CAN use the cards for video but this is automatically converted to low resolution. There was no way you can prevent this! The first three videos I uploaded (my talking about the website and the challenger and sorcerer videos) all came off the card. That's why they are so lo-res.

The camera also has USB port but this is only to get images off the card, not the tape. I'm assuming this is because it's USB 1.0, and data transmission was regraded as too slow for the high quality images off the tape.

Once I dug out this old firewire XP laptop, I could then get higher quality stuff from the digital tape.

I'm still not happy with the audio from the camera's built-in mic, but I can live with it until I can afford another solution.

Nice!

Like how your computer collection is in an up-stairs room just like mine, I hate how they make the roof cut into the room like that, my flat is extactly the same :)

I hit my head on the corner, so its best to pack it full of vintage computers as I have done.

If there is ever a flood, my computers will be safe, I have a couple of hundred Floppies etc, stored in the cupboard in the middle of the flat, nice and dry and away from the walls and windows where heat changes are caused by the sun.

And thats right Its completely normal to have a Vintage Computer Room, I have one with all my vintage stuff set up and in working order, why pack them away where you can get to them 8)

Got my Apples working, and got another, really starting to get a small collection now.

PS:Love the Atari, cool shape

Yes, that room doubles as my storage room and workshop. It is dry, although it gets hotter than I would like in the summer.

One day (probably retirement in 8-10 years time) I'll make/build/buy/move house and have some display space. At the moment I'm happy to unpack the computers when I need them.

I'm lucky that my partner is so tolerant. I've managed to slowly claim two rooms in the house (on the bright side, you can use the dining room table now). One thing I have noticed though, is I get more of a thrill pulling out a machine from storage and powering it up, than I ever do from powering up a permanently setup machine.

It's a bid odd, it's like by pulling it out I've discovered it all over again.

I'll need to sit down and catch up on your videos, my knowledge is a bit lacking in the history of the non-PC world, so they're a good little bit of learning experience.

Looking forward to that one, especially with your commentary!

I feel like I should have already done one myself :S I might try to at least record mine before I watch yours.
Mine is complete with the exception of the original keyboard - I have two in parts but rebuilding them is some kind of sick torture.

I might do one on the Sega SC-3000 - I'll try to follow Tezza's format!
