 $10,000? He would be much better off splitting up the auction.

ehehe I bet someone told him it'd be worth thousands!
I wonder if he'll relist lower, or give up. I've had one occasion where a seller couldn't sell an item for the price they wanted so they threw it out instead of re-listing lower :S

My 'cant afford it' auction for the week is the HP Touch 150 - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =805279392
I have boxed and sealed software for it, never thought I'd see the actual machine in NZ, but can't part with that much money for it. At least it's priced in the semi-possible region though.

I can't understand why people do this. To me it simply mean-spirited. Surely a $1 no reserve/pick up only on Trade Me would move it, and give someone else the pleasure of owning/playing with it.

One the other hand I can understand people not wanting to SHIP something unless the person is part of "the community", or there is some quid-pro-quo or remuneration. Shipping takes time and can be a chore. Not everyone has the time or energy to do this for a stranger.

That's basically what my issue is tezza - I have some stuff, I'd happily get rid cheap, but I don't have the time to bundle it appropriately to send it cross-country.

As for the guy wanting 10k for that stuff? I see $100 in VICs, $200 in C64s and a $50 Amiga 500...
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.

Its a very wierd auction... It looks like he's just after 'feedback' about how he should be selling it, rather then seriously trying to sell it for $10k. I guess it's one way to get feedback on that age-old question of 'what is it worth?'

"Don't expect it to sell for that! just looking to see what people want, it all in one lot or broken up (where I'll make other auctions)"

Oh well - if anybody wants anything, perhaps just post some comments up into his feedback on the auction.

...and apparently the listing has now been withdrawn from Trademe by the system admin (if you click on the original link tezza posted at the start of this thread).
