Commodore SX-64 Available

Postby scitex on Sun Aug 02, 2009 10:14 am

Hi

I have Commodore SX-64 "portable" computer available.
It was working perfectly up until yesterday. My 10 year old son was playing a text adventure on it (He really liked the sx-64 even though he has a fast pc, xbox 360, PS3 and PSP at his disposal!) when suddenly the screen filled with garbage.

Now when I switch it on it is just a white screen.

Anyway, it comes with the following:

1x Commodore 1541 external floppy drive
1x Commodore MPS 802 printer
1x EPYX Fast Load Cartridge
1x Calc Result Easy cartridge
1x Calc Result Advanced Cartridge
2 x Spectravideo Joysticks
1x Book - Superbase, The programmable database for your Commodore 64.

I am not sure if the cartridges work as they had not been used for ages and now I cannot test them.

There is a bit of sun damage to the items as the computer was sitting next to a window for most of it's working life.

If anyone is interested let me know. I am in Petone, Lower Hutt

**UPDATE: HAve just listed on Trademe**

Murray,

I've found Ray Carlsen's articles on C-64 repair of assistance at various times.

http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm.html

You, or whoever buys your machine might find them helpful.

Thanks Terry

I shall pass that information on to the new owner if they are not already aware of it.
