Not so vintage but a handy essential... XA1541 cables!

Postby Carcenomy on Sat Nov 19, 2011 7:17 pm

After fettering with my C64 recently I've noticed that most of the software I own is pretty much crap! I know there's so many amazing titles out there but I simply don't have them on physical disks, and good as emulators are it doesn't beat using the real deal at all. And with that, I'm strongly considering building a run of XA1541 cables. As I'm sure you all aware, these let you connect a real 1541 or equivalent drive to your PC via a parallel port, where you can then write disk images to real disks, or create disk images from disks, whatever floats your boat.

Not sure on pricing but likely wouldn't be much, not much to 'em. Any expressions of interest here, if a few guys want em I'll order plenty of bits and make a heap.
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.

I got one of these from e-bay about three years ago. They are excellent and make copying Internet software to your C64 floppy disks a breeze.

question is how much is it likely to cost, I would be interested as long as its within budget.
