An ex-Atari man selling on trademe

Postby YetiSeti on Fri Apr 16, 2010 8:03 pm

Well, since I made the post in this forum about the software house Anirog who were selling their computers on trademe (and I bought them :D ) , I shall make a mention in here of another tm member that has an attached computer & gaming history with them.

The auction : ATARI 2600 - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Gaming/Other/auction-283027348.htm
by "steve3255" has made mention that is was an employee at Atari in Sydney !

Well I think it's exciting finding and to try and keep links to people of computing & gaming history past, especially to those who were formerly in the industry who I guess have possibly moved on and often never really looked back (we have to live life moving forwards after all), and sometimes are not too aware of the current scene and revival around retro-computing and gaming. But it is also great to see that many such people are now making contributions back to the various online forums and communities by providing historical information and sharing their personal stories and experiences. When there's a New Zealand angle in it, all the better I say.

Indeed!

It would be good if more could join these forums and interact. Whenever you come across such people please make them aware this place exists. Although there are many other international vintage computer forums (I'm an active member of one), this is one place New Zealander's can bring their own perspective and local stories and be assured the audience is likey to be interested.

I think I was bidding on that auction and think it went for $60something at the point where I bailed. I decided on that auction that I couldn't keep spending my money in the name and interest of preserving these bits of history. Of course, I can't say I stopped buying from trademe after that auction but indefinitely has almost been reached.
