I picked up a few Mac-DB25 serial cables years ago from CDL, must have been a stock clearance - if they're still around they would be at the IT company I used to work for, and Carcenomy knows one of the techs there (Adrian) so might be able to ask. They've recently moved so it may have gotten chucked - the company owner was a shocker for throwing out anything he could get his hands on.

CDL still have the category for Mac Serial Cables, but unfortunately it's empty - http://www.cdlnz.com/index.html?do=CABLES&code=CC250. Any cable you see for $15-25 at say Dick Smith is probably a $2-3 cable from them :)

AHHHHHH it all makes sense now! I surely must have met you at some stage, and you'll definitely know Royce. In any case I'll hit Adrian or Tim up next time I'm talking to them, but from the last conversation I had with them finding anything to suit Apples that are beyond seven year old is incredibly difficult.
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.

I met him a couple of times, Dean took over a company I managed after Royce left so I never worked with him.

That doesn't surprise me, between the owner wanting to throw useful stuff out and one tech (not Adrian!) wanting to keep every little useless piece of junk there was always a lot of tension! There was definately a box of Mac-related cables that had those in it which I brought in from the previous company, but I'm not sure what happened to them - I do have some stuff that was picked up privately which I took when I left, but given I try to be ethical in all my dealings I left anything that was purchased in or owned by the company.

Actually when I think about it, at least one Mac serial cable probably stayed with the accounting firm that owned the IT company I originally managed - they still had a Powerbook 180 and a few clients with MYOB on Classic Macs "back then." They're probably gone, but it can't hurt to email the IT manager and see if she knows.

I now have one of these CFFA3000 cards in my possession. I had an exploratory try out last night.

So far, so good!

I've now setup my IIGS with the CFFA3000 card. I've got to say I'm very happy with it.

I noted down my impressions in this article.

Not sure what you mean by that but it arrived via USPS within 10 days of getting a notice it was shipping. Is yours taking a while?

Yes, it is taking a while - and it is currently sitting in China awaiting clearance. Weird way to go!

Strange? I've thrown the box away but I'm sure mine came direct.
