Clinton (Yetiseti) is in the news

Postby tezza on Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:54 am

One of our collectors has got a bit of press. See:

Apparently Clinton's also got a slot on National Radio today at 2.10pm!

I've been to his place and remember that room. There are other rooms filled with similar gear.

Good luck with the initiative Clinton!

When I look at the stacks of computers behind him all I was thinking was he's lucky he doesn't live in Christchurch

Just heard the interview. Well done Clinton, and let us know how it goes with Kim DotCom.

What's plan B and C though?

Thanks. I suprise myself if I'm ever able to talk in conversation with people given my introversion. Tuesday at work was the first time in 6 years I was presented with a situation where I actually talked in front of people/students so I'm not very practised.

There's only a plan A :( It's the most realistic when considering the alternative of public funding. There are lots of sources of funding from community trusts and funds like that but they're all one-off sums which might cover a temporary exhibition somewhere, not a museum with ongoing costs.

I have always thought we collectors could co-ordinate a bit and do an exhibition at every Armageddon event. I think a vintage computing/gaming display would fit very well with the event and interest levels in the type of people going along. The only difficult thing I have to resolve is the idea of doing something for free at a for-(their)-profit type event.

It'll probably be the death of me! They'll find me buried under a pile of computers and my epitaph will say along with that picture in the paper, something along the lines of "he saw the signs but failed to Think". I'm sure IBM will send some chips in condolence inscribed "in loving Memory(chips)"...

Or something MUD-esque. "YetiSeti was bludgeoned by a Commodore 128D" ;)
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.

Yeah, I'm not sure how that would work. Having just been at Armageddon this year with WotW, I can definitely say it's very expensive as an exhibitor... Unless you're a cast member from Star Trek. :)
"dsakey" on trademe. Apple II's are my thing.
