Anyone got a disk-based System 80 in Auckland

Postby tezza on Mon May 27, 2013 5:01 pm

Hi,

Recently there have been developments in the TRS80 Model I/III/4 world namely an SD-Card-based hard disk emulator for the Model III/4. System 80 enthusiast and hardware guru Andrew Quinn has had a hand in this development and is interested in tweaking the project so it works on a System 80. He's already built a prototype adapter. Problem is in order to test his System 80 interface card he needs an expansion unit so he can run LDOS for the tests. Unfortunately he only has a cassette based unit.

If Andrew was in Palm. North I'd lend him one of mine. However he is in Auckland. So a request. Is there anyone is Auckland who could help?...perhaps loan Andrew an expansion unit or at least do some testing for him with LDOS? I can vouch for him as a committed vintage computer hobbyist. It would be great to get System 80s running SDCard hard disks. No hassle software at your fingertips.

If you can help, let me know through Private Message on the board here, and I'll hook you up with Andrew.
