They're nice wee boxen. I'd look good next to my CDS 524  Had a 286 in the same package running GeoWorks Ensemble Pro 1.2 that was passed around family members.

Been doing a bit of research on the Wang. Looks like they had a wee clitch sometimes on startup. Nothing serious by the looks though.

Just in case your wondering why I'm posting here instead of the thread these are listed in it's to keep the opposition their toes

I read something about the Wang saying that it was thought it was an under value capacitor in the power supply sometimes caused issues. Was that what you read?

I was wondering why you were posting in here.... :D

And I have the original setup and accessory disks (for the Wang) which are available here:

I think I've posted about it before, but some pretty cool useful tools on them specifically for the PC200 and PC3000 series.

So much good stuff lately, CPC464 as well, nice find!

I'm guessing the CPC464 wasn't that common, it's only the second I've seen come in to work in three years, I only knew one person growing up who had one, the rest of us had Amiga's Commodores and Speccy's

Yes, I've often wondering about getting one of these to extend the collection and I'm tempted when I see them appear from time to time. But then...it was late into the game in the 8-bit home market and (the question I ask myself is) does the machine have any cultural currency?

I imagine if this had been your first computer it would have, but I've never been convinced enough from a wider perspective any significant money down.

(actually I did win an auction on one of these about 3 years ago. The machine and screen won for $5. However, the seller reneged and was uncontactable after the auction).

Yeah I could understand that, I'd be sorely tempted by an Atari 800XL - not so nostalgic for the tape drive I had with my original machine though. The 15 minute load time was painful even in the mid 80's.

Actually this has kinda got me rather nostalgic for some of the old Atari XL games I used to play. I think I'm going to load an Atari Emulator on my media machine when I get home. One game in particular I would love to play again that I can't remember the name of so I'm wondering if anyone can help.

It was a war game based on another planet, you had different robots of different classes and the idea was to located your enemy's spaceship and army, fight off their army and blow up their spaceship using two of the three robots armed with nuclear bombs, then load your robots onto your spaceship and take off, from memory you got points for the amount of kills and the amount of your robots you saved. You got bonus points for taking over their ship and disabling yours from memory. I remember picking it up in a Whitcolls bargain bin it must have been 86-87 I suppose. Does that ring any bells for anyone?
