Huge Vic 20 collection

Postby janini9 on Thu Sep 23, 2010 9:09 am

Hi,

I have a huge collection of Vic 20 computers and accessories. My Mother bought anything and everything associated with the Vic 20. She also bought a Commodore 64 and all the Basic manuals etc. Most have never been opened or used and there are boxes of stuff. I thought I'd post here to see if anyone is interested before I try and sell on Trade Me.

Wow, seems like a Vic-20 Motherload!

What did your mother mainly do wth the VIC-20? Learn programming? Play games? I'd be interested to know.

As I mentioned by e-mail, I am interested in the 16K RAM Cartridge.

I'm totally interested. But if you sell on trade me I'm sure you'd easily get in excess of $200.

It's a wonderful collection and it would be interesting to know if your mother was involved in the software industry in any capacity. Someone must have written all that commercially produced NZ Vic 20 software around from the 80s. The haul of Vic 20 software and bits & bobs (excluding consoles that is) is possibly more than what's turned up in auction in aggregate over the last several years and there may still be a fair few of items of interest clumped into your "a box of..." lines.

It would be a lot of effort, but every line listed above (multiples of the computers & carts could be split) would be worthy of an auction listed in its own right with a $5 or $10 open bid. Everyone could get a bit then. Of course if there were some interesting history and backstory to the collection it might be nice to keep it together as a lot.

Can anyone say if this lot is all gone? No replies on the board, and I never got a response from the person.
