From bedrooms to billions - released...

Postby kevman3d on Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:55 pm

While its not exactly NZ history, in a way it is... Watched this one (since its now available in Digital streaming/download format, with Bluray/DVD being pressed and shipped later this month) and I have to say that I could relate to the whole film - its pretty much what my childhood was all about and I'm sure the same for a lot of us here.

Its a long watch at 2.5 hours, but I think if you need a good look at where all those Speccy/C64 games came from, then its worth it. :D

Thought I'd just put a plug in for it here - knowing how much effort went into the making of it, seems fair to help promote it to the right audience.

Yes, I was thrilled to get the email about the digital release. I've downloaded the main feature but haven't watched it yet - at 2.5 hours I'll have to book time months in advance to get through it in one sitting! I did have a quick look at the credits though ;)

I'm looking forward to receiving the Blu Ray in the post sometime.

I've started on watching my digital copy - pretty pleased with the outcome. Was one of my first Kickstarter backings.

Good to see it came to something.

I am wondering when we are going to see the Vivia Amiga film? This is one I've donated to.

Seems it's a slow process...

Yah, its a very cool production (watching it a second time) - loads of stuff. I'll be curious to see what's in the extra 2 hours of additional material when the special edition is released.

And I didn't expect to see my name appear in the opening credits! That was a pleasant surprise - I'd expected it to be just in the ending credits with the rest. Just have to make sure I can keep my ego in check, otherwise my head will be too large to fit through the doors at work...

I haven't got it yet but have read a lot about it and watched clips on Youtube, it certainly looks interesting and I will consider buying it in the future. Coming from the UK it was good to see something from that perspective as many similar documentaries are very Americacentric, not that that is a bad thing but it is interesting to hear the views of people that had struggled with tape loading errors like myself back then!
