System 80 - Other Guises in Other Lands

The System 80 is the Dick Smith-conferred brand name given to the EACA "Video Genie I and II" machines discussed on this site. The "System 80" is how this machine is mostly know in Australia and New Zealand.

EACA aimed for global distribution However, EACA was not content to stop there and sold these machines to all comers, hence they appeared throughout the world under a variety of brands. These included the Video Genie in Europe, the PMC-80 and PMC 81 in North America, the HT-1080Z (in Hungary) and the TRZ-80 in South Africa. There may be more!
