1994/1995 All in one Mac

I am looking for an "All in One" Mac eg. LC575, LC580 or Performa of similar vintage. The LC575 was my introduction into Mac computing and was my workhorse at my first computer job in 1996. My specific need for this particular Mac is to be a Localtalk bridge and server for my growing 68k Mac Powerbook collection. I also want to install AppleShare(IP if I can) and learn about by doing, AppleTalk networking and file sharing and serving. Going back to my "glory days" when I first started to use Macs and actually understand now, a lot of what I didn't back then.

Looks like I might be able to get Carcenomy's Classic II. Definitely worth $30 postage from Invercargill!

I've got a Performa 5200CD I probably wont be needing. I haven't checked, but I think the PSU is dead. No magic smoke, but nothing else either.

Thanks for that Clym5. But the 5200 is a bit too big for my requirements and I still want to stay with 680x0 Macs.
Sounds like you are having some fun and games with your Toshiba!!!

You know I have an LC575 and a Performa 580CD lying around too, right? Both have Ethernet cards too. Am I going to need to pallet up all my old Macs and send them to you? :)

....and then you can take the 575 motherboard and bung it into a colour classic! Now, where to get hold of a colour classic....

I have a spare SE too, but I'd have to think about it. It currently has hard drive issues. Strange noises, and doesn't completely boot from disk.

At the mo, the Classic II will suit me just right. Small footprint, 68030 cpu and only about 10kgs which equals about $30 postage. Ive also got a few 4mb 30 pin simms and access to larger scsi hdds to upgrade it. The only down side is lack of ethernet but I am considering an Asante ethertalk bridge. Either way it will definitely expand my hobby horizons!

Fair enough, I actually use a combo of my iBook and my 580CD for getting stuff from the modern internet to the classic Macs when I do play with them. The iBook however is hard to qualify as 'modern' in Apple terms now ;)

Yay for Macintosh Garden! I am finding all sorts of Abondon-ware there! I want to eventually be able to install 7.5.5 on the Classic II but will be able to play with System 6 and all the old stuff available in the garden. I have a USB floppy drive that I will use on my iBook Clamshell to sneaker-net installers to the Classic II so no problem there.

I've heard there's a Macintosh LC III and a PS1 in an abandoned house in Te Akatea. Anyone live near there?
