Hi

It has been suggested I put some efforts into finding an "AST SixPakPlus" card for my XTs, rather than try and figure out this Sanyo memory expansion card i've been tryng to get my head around over at http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum ... erial-card

They're well documented so should be fairly straight forward to get working.

Now I may be out of touch (other than initially searching using the terms 'AST six pack plus -abs' in Google) but there are only a couple I can find on ebay and they're all $200+

I mean.... is that reasonable? If so I might just go with http://www.lo-tech.co.uk/product/1mb-ram-board-kit/

Maybe I got lucky with mine, I didn't pay that much!

There were lots of 384KB cards on the market, I'm just fond of that particular model because it adds serial, parallel, and a real time clock (which uses a coin battery that doesn't leak all over the place) and it's fairly easy to find. Those prices are a bit high though :(

But anyway, I might actually have one spare, I'll know for sure by the end of the week. I'll send a PM.

Ebay's gotten a bit silly lately. I suspect there are some dealers cornering the vintage market.

It definitely happens on trademe with Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon parts. They're almost non-existent except for two dealers.

Hi guys

Thanks for confirming that those prices were a little on the high side. I suppose the same could be said for the IBM mono green screens I've been trying to hunt down. I guess I'll hold off on eBay and see how my luck is elsewhere.

RE Trade Me, yeah, and the same could be said for Jap engine spares too, particularly anything performance related.

5151 is hard to find, but not too expensive when they turn up, usually bundled with a machine.
The 5153 on the other hand, good lord, you'd think it was made out of gold.
