Try ebay the commodore drives are usually burnt out from friction caused by ultra slow 3 minute loading times, the R/W head rubs on the cookie for 3 minutes heats up and the rest is history....

The commodore 64 loads from floppy disk 36 times slower than an Apple //e

Because cassette tape is faster than the disk drive a cable to a laptop audio port and a modified cassette port plug could provide a faster and more reliable method of loading software, just a thought.

Have you posted a request at the lemon64 forum, its very active.

Sorry brother best I have to hand is a 1570, but it appears to have issues for which I haven't the time or inclination to repair with its controller.
