Seeing a Dragon 32 on Trade Me with a $100 reserve 3 weeks later; ?@(*ing priceless.

Now I've expressed interest on the auction, I kind of feel obligated to buy it and don't want to disappoint. Plus I think I do have it listed on my wants list on here in expressed in a wee jingle. I was hoping someone else would bid as I'd be buying for the name rather than a particular project interest which someone else might have.

Despite its local rarity, I do like items for sale in NZ to keep in step with overseas prices, and I see the Dragon 32 is quoted in value between 5 and 35 pounds. But that's sentimental thinking as the reality of extortionate postage being the only way to get them here means you invariably have to factor it in. I have been accused of sentimental thinking before. I'm beginning to think there's no place for it.

Well, I put in a bid since I wanted a 6809-based machine to run FLEX on. If I win the auction, I'm hoping to upgrade it to a Dragon 64.

Congratulations on that. It went for a good price, but I've spent a bit much this month already so I decided not to bid.

Coming into this thread a bit (well, very) late, but...

Yes, I have a few Atari 800s, and a 400 or two as well. I like these systems a lot, as the father of a friend of mine (1982 or thereabouts maybe?) was a reseller in NZ for the line. He had a couple at his place, and I loved messing about with them. The guy even spent a while showing me how to use them, write programs in BASIC, and so forth. I like the style of them quite a lot more than the later Atari 8-bit machines; I used to have a lot of them, but kept only the original 800s and 400s.

Still looking for an Atari 810 drive. I have a few 1050s, which is fine, but they don't really suit the 800 at all in looks!
