Im after one of the old AT form factor full towers, (the really tall ones with the little 3 digit display and turbo button) for a retro project im working on.

If anyone has one they are prepared to part with either free or for cash, let me know.

I do, but unless you're in Invercargill it would be entirely impractical to ship!

I'm in Auckland

I might find out what it will cost me to get it shipped tho as all other attempts to locate one have proved fruitless.

Does anyone have advise on where to go hunting for this sort of thing?

Well, normally I'd trawl an e-day, but however, if you're in auckland, I have one. It lacks a few things though. It needs some faceplates and it's ATX (with a P-II motherboard.)
