Frankenbox BIOS string identifies it as a Jetway mobo, a relatively 'cheap' brand at the time - ie slow, but clearly capable as it is still alive unlike so many better quality brands that have ended up in the trash.
The DVD responds correctly to the BIOS probe, but BIOS incorrectly describes as CD-ROM. Not likely that there is an update to fix this!
I'd suspect DVD has a fault to have found itself in this aptly described 'bitza', particularly if the seller is not prepared to fix a basic IRQ conflict - start at the sound card vs. the second serial port settings.
And that floppy error, well, the empty hole in the case problem was solved with something found lying around. Could easily have been disconnected to hide that it is faulty ;o)
As an alternative;
http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/vint ... 388597.htmWe had one of these in one of the places I worked, but with the p75 instead of the 100MHz chip. Very nice slim, small footprint box - I didn't like the front cosmetic pull down over the drives though, but that's likely to stay up when in use so the case looks very clean in general use. Priced pretty sharply, including the original drivers CD! (Oh, better add the disclaimer that I'm not associated with this seller in any way! And I need to reduce some PC gear here before I go buying others)
