The Epson HX-20 is a fairly famous classic computer Matt. It was the one of the first notebook size computer with q full stroke keyboard. A good version of BASIC too. The screen was a little small for notetaking though. (-:

Too bad about the VIC PSU. Yea, those early VICs couldn't take the C64 ones like the later versions.

Great score ! Thanks for sharing the booty manifest. It turned out to be quite a treasure trove that was overwhelmingly under marketed but sometimes people just want to get rid of things.

I don't think I've seen an auction of that size outside of the Commodore Museum when it went up for sale. When you think how long it would have taken for him to acquire that amount to how quickly it's acquired through auction it definitely pays to take some smart shortcuts as a collector when the opportunities present. I'm surprised you didn't bid on the tm auction (251435983 'CLEAROUT of APPLE II PARTS!!') that was in Wellington also. That was reasonable haul of Apple bits & bobs.

I'd be keen to hear of what some of the software was and for what computers. Software and peripherals are about the only bits I can find room to squeeze in nowadays.

Wow. Now I feel old. Most of the interesting bits in my collection (if you can call it that) came about from when this stuff had only just past its prime - i.e. there were plently of Apple II's, old Mac's and even Lisa's on the second hand market - I used to watch the trade and exchange (when you could only get it in print). I once picked up an Apple Lisa 2/10, with _all_ of the original software (disks, manuals, boxes) for $80. Sadly as I was more interested in tinkering and playing with stuff and after a while I traded that for an Apple II hard drive and some other bits and pieces (which I dont have anymore either) - oh well, its all part of the fun :)

I won that - I was actually only after a monitor for a IIe I got off trademe earlier in the year (trying to recapture my youth I guess) - I still havent gone through much of that stuff, there was no Apple Talk Card sadly - there was a box for an Apple Talk card for the PC, but it was empty.

Cool, there really was a ton of software too and didn't realise there was that much when asking you to list it, but let's just say it's for your own good having the inventory.

I trust you know the worth of the Spectrum ROM carts.

You need an Interface 2 for those. They're not especially rare so shouldn't be hard to find.

I trust an interface 2 or better was found? Because no one seems to be bidding on vagabonds ram turbo interface for a very reasonable $12. Hmm might fit one of my spectrums well...

Yup there were a couple in there. Shame carts didn't take off on the spectrum. I guess if they bought a cheap computer they didn't want to pay high prices for carts.
