Wow. For any serious Mac collector, here is the deal of the century (well maybe not quite that good - but still good!). Two working examples of what I think are 3 of the more historically signifcant compact Macs. Doesnt look like they have any KB's or mice, but these are easily enough sourced. Look to be in quite nice physical condition to.

Too bad shipping isnt an option, otherwise I'd be seriously considering hitting the buy now on all of them (the only thing holding me back being fear of wife - I'm glad she doesnt read this forum ;-) ).

Yes, I'd be after the SE if it was down here.

Com'on Gavin, these Mac's are small and compact. I'm sure you could sequester a few away in hidey-holes away from you-know-who :D

If the guys doing the eday picking again it might spell bad news for the Macs. Low interest or value may mean they're glanced over next time.

As the keyboards & mice get separated out during collection someone might need to request or show there is a demand for them. Being worth a sorter/sellers worthwhile is another thing again. I've been out of town for the last two edays here so couldn't help on the day. Who knows how many clicky IBM keyboards go the wayside :D

Dunedin's eday is in jeopardy this year : http://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/130241/waste-electronics-recovery-doubt
The quote I like is "it was a mammoth event to co-ordinate in such a short time". I'm not sure what part of you've had a whole year someone doesn't get.

lol - I have enough trouble hiding my two (in need of repair) mac pluses and se/30 - which btw actually fit quite snugly onto hall cupboard shelves - which is good until the sheets are all moved to reveal them. Compact Mac's are also particularly despised in our house after my Mac Classic's (which is sadly no longer with us) battery exploded whilst it was on the study floor and left two or three very obvious burn marks - ops!

I haven't tried to smuggle mine into the house. They are officially banished to the outlands of the garage and the room above it.

I'm even banished there myself sometimes :)

I am lucky to have been collecting for a long time, and married after establishing my collection. My wife is very tolerent, even supportive, of my hobby as long as I keep it out of living areas. I brought an Atari 7800 and XE GS, and a big box of carts, in from the garage over the weekend and played some games with the kids. Apparently I have to take everything back again now though.

I just installed an XBox Interactive Display Unit (One of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JrYqu7r8v8) in my 12 yr old's bedroom too - running MAME of course. He's pretty happy about that :)

The one with the $120 reserve on it?

No, this is one I've had for years.
