Alan dropped me a note to say he was unloading some of his Commodore stuff on Trade Me, and to ask if I could make those on this forum aware of it.

Here is one listing:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =414804416
and it looks like there is more there now.

Theres just something about the C128D that appeals to me - not that I've ever owned one, or a C64 for that matter. Still...

I have a C128D, and I'd really like a non-D model. The D seems like a great idea until you realise how bloody massive and unwieldy they are. Of course, by the time you've plugged in a 1571 they're much the same I suppose.

But being an Apple man, you'd be used to a weighty piece of kit ;-P

(I say that having carted 'round a whole bunch last week to set up the photo below)

Image

For the uninitiated (not you gavo), from left: Apple ][plus, Apple //c (front), Apple IIe Platinum, NeXTstation Turbo, Macintosh 512Ke, Macintosh Plus (rear), Powerbook 100 (front), Macintosh SE.
Not pictured: Apple //e Enhanced, Apple IIgs and several other Powerbooks.

If anyone has any real interest in any specific auctions other than the C16, tell me and I'll lay off.

Nice photo! Right at the moment I am sorting through my large pile of junk, with the hope of getting to a nice displayable collection and then one day I too will to be able to get a photo like that!

Alan's listings all look to be collector grade kit, hope he does well with the auctions! I remember those vic20's back in the day and can remember discussing them in some detail as to their relevance next to the mighty C64 for marginally more $$ and here we are 30 odd years on still discussing them - very cool.... 8)

I have to admit that I had a double take when I saw that black box but realised it was a NeXT box - not sure they should be in the same photo - although they are all Steve's babies :)

I was bidding on the C16 for the power supply, but think I may have made a mistake as the one I am after is the VIC with the 5V DC by 9VAC
also interested in the C128 but think it will go to high a price for me.

I'm moderately interested in the C128D. What do you think it's worth?

I paid under $45 a few months ago for a C128D with 1802 monitor and 1541 external floppy drive in working, undamaged but badly yellowed condition. It came with cables, manuals and a couple of boxes of floppies.

Yeah, it was a Jobs tribute photo. In that context the NeXT is the only one that really fits in seeing as there's no Mac 128K.

I'm massive interested in the 128D but I have absolutely no money at the moment. One of you top chaps will need to snap it up and give it a good home!

I stopped at the $100 mark. (Finances are still reeling from the 1978 Apple II :)

Anyone know the person who bought it?

Can't say I do. What did it go for in the end?

$100... but I was still getting outbid by an autobid. I might've kept going, if I was starting a commodore collection, but I just want one working C128D. (since they make a good "fully expanded C64")

Not sure who he is but he has bought a Commodore Plus 4, Amiga 1200,TECHNO SOUND - Amiga 500 sampling cartridge , C64 Facemaker Cart with case, Amiga Action Replay MK III for the A500, Amstrad CPC 464 (CPC464), Amiga Custom chips over the last year,
I backed out at $70

The VIC 20 went for * Winning bid: $81.15 which I backed out of at about $70 as I only wanted the power supply, the older VIC 20 went for the winning bidder seems to be into Coins and Notes so may be a new collector of Old systems in the making

I did pick up the C16 for $30 maybe of use for spares if needed later on, or may keep as working model and retire the other to spares. will see when I get to see condition.
