Can't beleive I missed out

IBM PC JX,

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =486327237

I backed off just after $150.
Other user must want one really badly - its pickup only in Wellington and faulty. Makes sense I guess, extremely rare and almost no documentation on the net (just basic stats and simple history).

Yeah I'd been drooling at the mouth all week :/

There's a PC Direct 386AI on there too, but I have enough clones to not want to part with $50 for another.
I remember reading those PC Direct catalogs when I was still in school.

I'm suprised I don't hear you guys yakking on about the Sega/IBM TeraDrive more often. That'd be a seriously neat machine to have your hands on, far cooler than the PC JX :)

Because there isn't one on trademe :P Actually didn't know about them either, had to go do some googling.
What appealed to me about the JX was you get the PCjr/Tandy 1000 graphics and sound, but twin disk drives in 3.5".

What I"m really hunting for is an IBM AT case, delivered (case + PSU) from the US I'm looking at around $300.

I was pretty keen on the JX as well but I feared postage would have been twice the auction price with a monitor probably requiring a second box.

Aside from being a really interesting machine, I thought a black JX would have been nice alongside a black Mac Performa in a display (don't have one of them either though).

Yes, I am mildly interested in the JX model too. Something IBM may have trialled in NZ before deciding it wasn't going to go anywhere in the marketplace.
