Now here is an interesting vintage item

And it seems to boot up and work. These dedicated word processors did have their place in the early 1980s before being overwhelmed by more general microcomputers of the PC variety. They were particularly useful in the pre-IBM PC/MS-DOS days when business micros tended to be CP/M and more complicated to use.

We used to have a WANG one at work. The Amstrad seen on Trade Me several times also comes to mind. I imagine not too many of these dedicated machines were produced after 1985-1986.

I just bought one of these for $60. Dunno yet if it works. I'm trying to build up a good selection of luggables and similar for our collection. If anybody has any info on these - dates, prices etc.- I would be interested in finding out.
