SC-3000 collection on Trademe - Currently at $4.50

Postby kevman3d on Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:41 pm

Given nobodies posted about this yet (and I'd assume someone would have by now if they'd spotted it)

http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/vintage/auction-549900575.htm

I wasn't sure if anybody here was bidding on this one, but its been put on at a rather unusually low price given how much people try and flog gear off on Trademe lately (I saw a $65 "Buy Now" for a copy of "Frankie goes to hollywood" ZX spectrum cassette the other day... Yipes!) this looks ridiculously cheap. Current bid is $4.50

There is also a Mark III game console for $1...

Thanks for posting that. I reckon that will go for somewhere between $60 and $120, depending on how badly people want it just based on the auctions I've been watching the past couple of years. It is a nice little starter collection for the SC-3000.

The only SC-3000 auctions that I've seen spike beyond that level are ones with unusual items like the one YetiSeti won recently (lots of good / rare tapes), or the moltenmedia ones back in April 2012 where there was a mint condition SC-3000 and SF-7000 listed with boxes. A good quality box always seems to make a price difference to collectors for some reason :) I can see why if you're into collecting and displaying lots of systems, although all of my SC-3000s are either for working projects or spare parts so the condition isn't as important to me.

Cheers

I think around the $100 mark. In the past I've bid around $120 for Sega auctions with less. A reasonable amount of software always bumps up the price when the computers by themselves never fetched too much ($50-$60). It's has got to the point now (which is good) where quite a few of these computers have come out of the woodworks. It's just a shame that the computer is better than the software and games that ever came out for it.

This auction for 7 boxed carts and controllers sold for $46 - http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/vint ... 821796.htm

On the current auction there were several different bidders and question askers before it pushed past $5 so there's certainly interest. It only takes a couple of people who do not obey the laws of market values to make the price go skywards. I see there's a bidder called cat-lady1 so the bidding may go crazy.

I paid $61 for this one. It was boxed and in near new condition. Added a Multicart2 from honestbob - boom!

Bit of a "too-many-cats" stereotype, or do you know the woman to be crazy? :)

Well, its now at $56... I guess that $4.50 was destined to be surpassed... lol!

There's some kind of bidding war going on - in the same minute at 6:31, the last ten bids went from $26 to $55. ...and its not closing til next tuesday. Might be fun to watch what happens.

Put it this way, I bought a bunch of MD carts from a dude recently, he had a massive stash of SMS stuff as well, I may have let slip that I have a couple of SC3000s. He nearly flipped out, he'd never heard of someone actually owning one before, so yes there's still interest.
Just the local Commodore hobo and middle-aged PC hoarder.

Good estimate - its sitting at $102 now, and that's been built up from just two people bidding from what I've been seeing. It has been jumping up between anything from $2 to $8+ increments over the last few days. Its still 4 days away from closing... :)
