Well I've decided to let this one go. Even though Fahrfall almost has me addicted.

It could just be the monitor and it is using the AV. Tried the RF and can tune but only just see a picture.

The C16 I have listed also gives a similar output on this monitor. Ill try with another one and let you know.

Alright have swapped the monitors and get a much better result. Interestingly the effects they use to get the extra colours in Fahrfall look heaps better as well.

Certainly tempted and a Dragon is on my want list. It's more the overseas thing that makes me think whether it is worth trying to keep the collection as NZ as possible. If I buy this, I might as well buy all of Palace-watsis-face's collection as well. Hmm, I am in CHCH next weekend ...

Paul from Greenchilli is going to send through some photos of the setup once its in place.

Apparently they are setting up a classroom for visiting school groups to experience how computers were. Should be a good use for the old Dragon.

Once I get the photos ill put them up here.

Oh well at least if I have to get it back and presuming I can get it going again I will be able to play more Fahrfall :D

Bugger. Yes, these old computers can be touchy.

One of my System 80s "occasionally" will give a garbage screen for no known reason. Switching it off and on again usually clears it, but sometimes I need to do that several times. Then it will go for hours and hours with no problem at all. Then once in a blue moon throws its toys out of the cot.

Being so intermittent, Who knows what's wrong. Perhaps a bit of oxide in a socket somewhere. Perhaps a cap on the edge of it's tolerance level. Luckily 99.9% of the time it's fine. It's not the kind of fault you want appearing during disk writing operations though :)

On the bright side, it has displayed a pretty picture. Best of luck, hopefully just something loose.

Well tomorrow the Ill send off a Vic20 to replace the faulty Dragon. We agreed on a swap and it'll give them a home computer of the same era but probably more common place in NZ.

I've included a handful of cartridges and tapes to show the kids how things used to be.

Hopefully the Dragon will be back by the middle of next week and I can try and find out whats gone wrong.
