I was just checking my eBay purchase (CF card HDD for Amiga) and in the recommendations I spotted this rather cool little 1541 to USB device that lets you plug your commodore drives into a PC. Theres also software to write .D64's and other archived drive software back to the drive for use on your original machine.

If I had a drive, obviously I'd get one (providing one of the C64's here works that is). But for anybody who didn't know about this, I can imagine this might become invaluable in producing FDD's for your C64 without other wizz-bang solutions... That said, I have no idea how long this has been around. Odds are that everybody knows about it already!

Does anybody know if there's a similiar device for the Atari 1050 at all? I have one, just no power supply or FDD's for it... Thought I'd ask...

Does your CF card HDD for Amiga come ready to go ??

Then I'll need to get a power supply for the drive (I assume its a cheap 9v?) and some DD floppies... It'll be good to see if the 1050 also works nicely. Its been stored in its packaging for over a decade and a half unused, so I suspect its likely in good condition. At this stage, all I've done with the Atari is use cartridge games on it...

Power Supply is 9 Volts AC at about 3 amps ( Very hard to find ).
I have ran 3 wires in the back of my drive to feed the internal power supply with +12 Volts DC and +5 Volts Dc (using an old Amiga 500 power supply)
The connections were to the output of the regulators (no Trace cuts).
