Hi,

The Hamilton collection from Logan I posted about recently had a Poly 1 or two which I snagged plus the network station (i.e. huge box with 8 inch disk drive).

Beautiful retro design. Next year when I've got some time I'll work on these some more but in the meantime, here's a pic. Click on the photo to see the full picture.

I hope to write a blog article soon with lots of pictures of the outside and inside. I'll post a link when ready.

P.S. I need a bigger desk!

You actually got one!!

This is one of those machines that's like rusted technological pieces from classical antiquity.... (The type of thing where only incomplete or non-functional pieces exist in museums... and what it was actually used for or how it worked is just a guess. :) )

Yes, I did get one. In fact two, so I've got spare parts. I also got the drive unit, the cables, lots of software on 8 inch floppies and lots of manuals...the full package. I'm very fortunate.

It was one of the few remaining machines "on my list" :)

Just following up on the Poly project. I had one that worked and one that didn't. The latter is now fixed. As usual I've written it up with lots of pictures so if anyone is interested you can read about it here. Lots of photos, with a close up of the mainboard.

I'm embarrassed to say i had no idea that these existed until i saw the article on Hackaday, and as soon as i saw that article, i went on a reading frenzy about them and your adventures with them.

Been a good read.. The POLY 1 is now on my list of computers to acquire before i die. Along with a BBC Micro and an Altair 8800.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with them! Will be looking out for more.
