well had an old client come in yesterday and dropped off and old pc they had found in a cupboard, test booted and found it is a p133+ maybe a cyrix cpu or umc, but had 16mb edo, sb16 value with creative cd-rom, and s3 verge 2mb pic video, 1.44 fdd, and a 550mb ide hdd, running Dos 6.22 and win 3.11. all but the mouse were running ok. the screen was and old Philips 14" and had the wobbles on screen as most older Philips have problems..so just plugged in a 17" lcd.. all looked ok.

so have set aside to play with later..

That is a nice unit. Will be of the same era as my HP P100 (now 133) mid nineties. Check the caps on the main board (when the computer is unplugged) and probably more so in the power supply. Gets hotter in there. (Not user serviceable indeed, bah, lol).

Cool if I need one I know who to grovel to first. ;). While researching power supplies I read that when the caps have dried out the ripple flowing through from the AC increases which is said to be bad for the ICs on the mainboard. Caps act as a filter on the output. Ive seen before and after scope tests and this seems to be true.
