Well have an update on the bondwell-16 i opened it up and checked all the cables and the boards for caps or issues.
it now boots up to the log in screen to boot from floppy or hdd but have no software on disk, so press the start hdd and it posts an error reading a file of hdd..

so if anyone have a 14 or 16 can i please have a copy of the disks?? or an image of the hdd .. thanks

this is the error it comes up with.. i have run the drive for over 30 mins and tried but comes up with error still so think only way maybe to re-install from disk.. but to find a copy is hard.. there is a copy on ebay in US but $100 nz to have it landed in NZ is too much..

the insides of the BW-16.. see how they soldered the hdd adaptor to the main board.. the 14 has a header for the fdd cable on this they have taken it off and soldered the ribbion cable to the daughter board, then it goes to under the hdd where the wd hdd mfm board is mounted to the hdd.. this must also be the way they did the kaypro and other Z80s in the day..

one thing to watch is the 3 rubber washers for 3 over sized keys as they will fall off if tipped upside down..

Well now i have to wait for parts so i desided to open the BW-14 to see why its screen rolling and where to adjust.. but this one though it is working has been sitting in water for some time... and i had to drill out 4 of the 5 screws that hold it shut.. more repairs ... the case is more brittle than the BW-16.. the inside look better than i thought was rather clean apart for some rust dust in the bottom and a few screws that had started to rust.. (i will replace all rusted screws) the fdd was a pain in the ass to remove as in the BW-16 it was remove 5 screws and un-clip and slide out.. ohhhhh no not the BW-14 you have to take the whole thing apart.. down to removing the crt tube to get to the screws that hold the 1/2 to the plastic case.. (they wont be going back in and ill adapt a clip on like the BW-16) the B drive was like new and no cap rott but removed caps to redo anyway.. the A drive was in better condition than the BW-16 drive but thats getting done too.. so now to check the keyboard of the BW-14 while the case is in the dish washer.. well what a surprise.... i know where the water was sitting.. talk about powder fanta... so when the case is done the keys, board and keyboard cases are all going in for a wash... the funny thig is that the keys are like new on the keyboard..
