the ugley soldered ribbon cables on the Bondwell-16 gone.. just need to make the leads now.. alot better idea i think. now i can unplug the drives with out taking the controller off as well..

now i have to check all the non working keys on the Bondwell-14 to see what i can do to selvage them.. fingers crossed.. and to make the new fdd/hdd cables.

so just testing the waters as i have 2 x kaypro-10 units to test and wonder if there is any inturest and whst people think they are worth?

im not after gold but a resionable price as ill check and recap psu an fdd's

well a wet day and i have thins to fix.. so made the cables for the BW-16..

after making the cables i decided to do a tear-down, test, fix and re-assemble ...

this is a picture of 2 keys so you cam see how they are..

the keys are no molded shut so to open the keys i use a small jewlers screw driver to pry out the clips on 1 side at a time..

with a thumb nail holding it open i do the other side.. take your time so you dont break the tabs as they hold the whole thing closed.

bothe sides open now.. slowly wiggle the top off.. becareful as there is a spring inside

take the base top and spring and layout so you dont lose..

remove the white plastic plunger and clean it then clean the top it was in..

ok now the bottom part where the pins are you will see the red wax/glue you need to take it out just take your time it comes out easy..

now you need to gently wiggle the pins side to side while pushing down on the to make them go down inside the switch.
