the fdd is a little noisy so may need bearing replaced so will look at that but it reads fine.. only things to do is get a replacement ESC key and switch as it was broken off and top lost.. and the phone plug on the other keyboard..

so that being do these will be up for sale so if any ones looking for one or both... let me know..

oh 1 thing i noticed the 10/84 is running cp/m - 2.2u1 and is version - 2.01

Well we have some awesome news in that i'm getting a scanned copy done of the Chilton's Kaypro repair Manual. with permission of the owners (haynes manuals USA)

From VCF email posted below..

Hi Guys, So glad we found a copy. I wanted to post the content of the original authorization email:

Mr. Anderson,

I received your inquiry regarding reproducing information contained in the Chilton Kaypro computer book.

In 1990, Haynes purchased print rights to Chilton automotive manuals. I can't say whether or not the Kaypro book would have been included in this purchase.

If Haynes does in fact hold rights to this book, I will authorize cost-free, non-commercial distribution of copies on a limited basis among your community of vintage computer enthusiasts.

Best regards,

Mike Forsythe

well the day has come and i have just got the digital copy of the kaypro repair manual by Chilton's. i will put a copy here but please the licence we got was a limited one and not a free for all. don't throw it out all over the net or sell it as Haynes still have the rights and we got a limited licence to make a few repair copy's for repair/restore of these little pc's.

Not sure what you are saying here? Do you want me to put it on classic-computers.org.nz ? That certainly will throw it all over the net?
